Sean Farrell

Sean Farrell is an internationally recognized and highly collected artist. He is known for his vivid and luminous oil paintings. With collectors of his work throughout North America and Europe, the artist enjoys wide based gallery representation. Sean is a professional painter, and as testimony to his success, he has sold nearly 500 paintings.

Sean Farrell is a dedicated student of his craft and to that end has traveled extensively throughout Europe with particular emphases on Italy. The artist has studied and gained knowledge from the great master works in the history of art. His paintings reflect the admiration he feels for the 17th century Italian and Dutch masters, yet he maintains his own unique contemporary interpretation of his subjects.

Internationally, the artist has exhibited at the prestigious Florence Bienalle in Florence, Italy. NY ARTS Magazine covered the exhibition and in their published review gave the following praise to the works of Sean Farrell:

"Works deserving special attention was Sean Farrell’s exquisitely painted flower and fruit arrangements. Eye-catching with his use of dramatically bold colors mixed with delicate detail in a very modern old-master style"

Along with receiving a lifetime invitation to exhibit at the Florence Biennales, he has also received invitations to participate in Biennale di Chianciano in Tuscany. In 2010 Mr. Farrell will once again be traveling and working in Italy. He plans to spend time in Rome, Naples, and Tuscany. As a result one can expect to see a continued Italian influence in his work.

In more recent news, The Northeast CT Artist Guild bestowed upon Farrell a gift of lifetime membership. In Boston, at the Copley Society of Art, Sean participated in the annual Patrons’ Choice Exhibition for the third consecutive year. The results were the same each year as Sean’s entry received the coveted Patrons’ Choice Award. Having become a favorite artist of the gallery patrons, the Copley Society has since invited Sean to have a solo exhibition of his work scheduled for later this year. In addition, for the year 2010 the Copley Society announced Sean Farrell as the recipient of the John Singleton Copley Award. This award is the highest honor that the Copley Society presents to an artist. It is given to an artist for their "supreme skill" and "dedication" to the Society.

Sean resides in Connecticut with his wife and two children.
